North itching to pull on Pat's shirt after Grimsby switch

ENGLISH striker Danny North says he can't wait to get started with his new club St Patrick's Athletic.

North was due to sign for the Saints today after a long spell with Grimsby Town, and he may be able to make his debut in tonight's league game at home to Galway United.

"It's a challenge I'm really looking forward to and can't wait to get going. The team are top of the league and pushing for Europe so it was a no-brainer for me really," said North, who could go straight into the Saints panel for tonight's game.

The Pats squad has undergone some changes this week, with the departure yesterday of keeper Dan Connor to English side Hereford United. Connor joined Pats from Cork City at the start of the season but was restricted in his chances due to the form of Gary Rogers, and

Connor made just five appearances for the Saints, all in cup competitions.
