GIOVANNI Trapattoni's application for the vacant job at Hannover 96 was filed in the 'thanks, but no thanks' folder by chairman Martin Kind before he appointed former Turkish international Tayfun Korkut.
Shortly before he was sacked by the FAI, Trapattoni (pictured right) hinted that he had several options lined up and as recently as October claimed that he could yet manage a team at the World Cup finals in Brazil.
However, he remains unemployed.
"We were offered every day a new coach," said Kind.
"I now have a giant folder with job applications. My personal highlight was Trapattoni."
