The Women's National League will have a nine-team structure for the 2020 season after the format was finally announced by the FAI.

But while Bohemians and Treaty City are new faces on the WNL scene, clubs face yet another wait for the fixture list for the campaign which begins next month.

There had been frustration for officials, players and coaches with a lack of clarity on the format and fixture list for 2020.

Only last week, ex-international Áine O'Gorman said her Peamount United side were in pre-season but "it would be nice to know who we're playing in the first game of the season".

The FAI confirmed that Athlone Town, Bohemians, Cork City, DLR Waves, Galway WFC, Peamount United, Shelbourne, Treaty United and Wexford Youths would compete in the league, with fixtures due tomorrow.
