Preston have told Ireland striker Graham Burke that he still has a future at the club despite being sent out on loan.
Burke made his debut for League One side Gillingham last weekend after a six-month loan deal was concluded on transfer deadline day.
The 25-year-old is under contract with Preston until 2021 and manager Alex Neil says he could still play a role there.
"Graham just needs to play, he is a good lad who trains really well and is a great professional," says Neil.
"He has been frustrated this season because he's not had a lot of game time. Graham's not had the chance to play in his best position a lot either.
"(Fit-again) Seán Maguire having been missing damaged Graham too because I think they would have linked up well together. We had to be fair to him, let him go on loan to get the games he needs. What we will do is revisit it in the summer.
"Graham will come back and we'll see where we are. We will have a look at him over the course of pre-season and then it is down to him."
Andy Boyle appears to have played his last game for Preston as he joined Ross County on loan until the end of the season, when his Preston contract runs out.
Cork City remain hopeful of bringing full-back Kevin O'Connor back to the club.
The Wexford native left Cork for Preston 18 months ago but has struggled for game time and has been on loan to Crewe this season.
