Morrissey hunting for a new club

IRELAND U19 cap Conor Morrissey is training with his hometown club Waterford United in a bid to stay fit as he plans the next move of his career.

Morrissey joined Italian side Triestina on a three-year deal in 2011, but his time at the Serie C club was plagued with injuries and administrative problems, and now the former Manchester City man is without a club following the Italian club's demise over the summer.

"The move to Italy just didn't go well on or off the field but I hope the next move works out well," says Morrissey.

"I'm training with Waterford United at the moment but I haven't signed anything with them. I have been on trial and I'm waiting to hear back from clubs across the water."

Championship sides Cardiff City and Bristol City had Morrissey on trial but no offers have come so he's hoping to hear from prospective employers in the SPL and League One.
