Monaghan out to Cooke up a storm in Sligo

MONAGHAN United boss Mick Cooke reckons that their recent run of form gives them a great chance of knocking Sligo Rovers out of the FAI Cup tonight, writes AIDAN

With six wins from six games, Monaghan's form is better than any other side in the Premier or First Divisions and, despite their status as a second-tier side against an in-form Sligo, Cooke feels that his young side can deliver the goods away to Sligo.

"I was very satisfied with our two results at the weekend. I felt we were in control in both games and if we can recreate that form then I believe we have an excellent chance against Sligo," said Cooke ahead of the first meeting of the clubs in a week, as Sligo and Monaghan meet in the final of the EA Sports Cup next Saturday.
