STRIKER Trevor Molloy came back to haunt Athlone Town, the club he played for as a teenager, as he grabbed a brace to help guide non-league Bluebell into the third round of the FAI Cup thanks to a 3-2 win.
The home side opened the scoring against the run of play in the 33rd minute through Ian Sweeney.
Straight afterwards, Ian Cherry rattled the crossbar at the other end, then Molloy's neat finish from six yards levelled matters just before the break and he put his side ahead midway through the second half, firing a precision 30-yarder into the bottom corner.
Substitute Toyeeb Mustapha equalised for Athlone, crashing the loose ball home from the edge of the penalty area to send the game into extra-time.
But Molloy again came up trumps, as a wonderful piece of footwork got him away from two defenders and allowed him to find Peter Darcy with an excellent low cross. The midfielder made no mistake, slamming the ball home to take Bluebell through.
