Reading boss Paul Clement has told Ireland midfielder David Meyler that he has not done enough to win a place in his squad.
Meyler has not been involved in the Royals' last nine games and while Clement says the Cork man is still part of the squad, he's not in his immediate plans.
"He's had a difficult time and not played at the level he's capable of," Clement said of Meyler.
"But he's still very much involved in the plans and is training every day. He's been professional and got good leadership qualities. He's frustrated he's not playing but I've got a lot of players like that. They are not being unprofessional - just disappointed."
Meanwhile, Irish youngster Aaron Connolly has been praised by Brighton boss Chris Hughton for his form with the Seagulls' U23 side.
"We take a great interest in the U23s and they train with us on occasions. We're aware of the strengths of Aaron. He's always scored goals," he said.
