MICK McCARTHY was happy with the response of Irish teenager Anthony Forde after he handed the Limerick lad his Premier League debut on Saturday, writes AIDAN FITZMAURICE.
Wolves went down 3-0 away to Chelsea but it was still a memorable day for Ballingarry man Forde who came on for the last 15 minutes for his first league appearance -- Forde had already played for Wolves in the Carling Cup this season.
"It was great to see Anthony Forde get on," said McCarthy of the winger who only celebrated his 18th birthday two weeks ago.
"I thought he put a couple of great crosses in from that side.
"He looked confident taking Ashley Cole on which was nice to see.
"I have got high hopes for him so it was nice to see him on the pitch."
Forde is now the sixth Republic of Ireland player to appear for Wolves in the Premier League this season, along with Kevin Doyle, Stephen Ward, Stephen Hunt, Kevin Foley and Matt Doherty.
