MAYO don't want their rematch with Kerry in Limerick - and they want Lee Keegan available for that SFC semi-final replay as they promised to contest his disputed red card arising from yesterday's enthralling roller coaster in Croke Park.
The replay has been fixed for the Gaelic Grounds next Saturday (5pm), as GAA chiefs took the unprecedented decision to switch an All-Ireland semi-final replay from the capital because HQ was already booked for an American Football game on that date.
That decision was roundly criticised by RTE pundits Joe Brolly and Colm O'Rourke after yesterday's 1-16 apiece deadlock while the venue choice was described as "bizarre" by James Horan (above).
He confirmed that Mayo would lobby to have the replay rescheduled for Croke Park on Saturday week instead.
"I'm working with the county board at the moment and that would be our preferred option," the Mayo manager outlined.
"If that works, great; if that doesn't work, great," he added.
As for Keegan's 34th minute red card for an attempted kick, Horan said: "I just had a look at it there on video. To me, it's not a sending off. No way."
