Mathews backing 'quality' Cassidy

ALAN MATHEWS believes that new signing David Cassidy will make a big impact at Bray Wanderers following his move from Drogheda United.

Still only 28, Cassidy has a vast amount of experience since he moved to the League of Ireland after a spell with Derby County, lining out for Kilkenny City, Shamrock Rovers, Dundalk, Shelbourne and Drogheda.

Bray boss Mathews was in charge of Shelbourne during Cassidy's time there and he is keen to link up with the midfielder again.

"Having worked with David before, I know what he is capable of and I am delighted to bring a player of his quality to the club," said Mathews.
