Marco expects trio to be fit for Faroes

MARCO TARDELLI expects Ireland's injury worries to be cleared up in plenty of time for Friday's World Cup battle with the Faroe Islands.

David Forde, Richard Dunne and Marc Wilson all skipped training in Malahide yesterday but the Ireland assistant manager expects the trio to be fit for duty.

"They were rested but they will be back training on Wednesday," Tardelli said, explaining that Dunne – who had been out of action for 11 months before he made a substitute appearance against Georgia on Sunday – was left out as a precaution.

"He played an important match after one year and I understand for him that it has been psychologically very tough.

"Richard is here with us and he has recovered well.

"I think there is a possibility he will play against the Faroes or against Spain.

"Yesterday he was rested but it's good for him to be here. It's normal to rest."
