Oldham striker Eoin Doyle believes that his fellow League of Ireland graduate Patrick McEleney is now ready to make a big impact with the club.
McEleney had been through a frustrating time since moving to England from Dundalk in January and only made his debut last weekend.
But the Derry native came off the bench to score, along with Dubliner Doyle, in a 2-0 win away to Scunthorpe.
"It's great to be back and it's great to have Paddy on board as well," said Doyle, back in the Oldham side following illness which had kept him out of action since mid-December.
"He's a magician with his feet and he's going to excite the crowd. We need to get out of this position because it's false with the players that we have and especially with the likes of Paddy coming into the fold now," added Doyle, hoping to assist Oldham's battle against relegation.
