PADDY MADDEN will complete a £300,000 move to Scunthorpe United in the next 24 hours as the Ireland international tries to revive his career.
The 23-year-old has not featured for Championship side Yeovil Town in eight weeks after a falling-out with manager Gary Johnson and the Glovers boss had made it clear that the striker did not have a future at the club.
A number of League One sides were linked with the striker but now Yeovil are close to a deal with Scunthorpe, currently top of the table in League Two. Madden hopes that a move can be completed to allow him make his debut for the Iron on Saturday.
Madden was a massive success at Yeovil following a difficult spell with Carlisle United and his 23 goals played a major role in Yeovil's successful promotion challenge last season.
That form earned him international recognition and he made his Ireland debut against Wales in August but his form at Yeovil dipped and boss Johnson eventually dropped Madden from the squad completely.
Scunthorpe had previously tried to bring in Madden on loan.
