Mac hails Ipswich fans after win

IPSWICH TOWN boss Mick McCarthy praised the club's fans after leading the side to their first home win in the league in eight months, writes AIDAN FITZMAURICE.

FORMER Ireland international Daryl Murphy scored the only goal of the game as Ipswich, who have now moved off the bottom of the Championship, made it two wins from three games under McCarthy with that Portman Road victory over Burnley, the first home win in the league since March. "The fans were terrific. They have not had much to cheer at home lately so I'm delighted for them that we've got the three points," said McCarthy.
