MANCHESTER United are ready to end their expensive gamble on Radamel Falcao after the striker was axed from the squad for yesterday's disappointing loss to Southampton.
United slumped to a 1-0 defeat at home to the Saints but United watchers were amazed when the Colombian, signed from Monaco in a loan deal last summer, was not even on the bench.
Late last night reports emerged, claiming that he had stormed out of Old Trafford when he was not selected for the Saints game and after the match, boss Louis van Gaal confirmed that Falcao's omission was not injury-related.
"Falcao isn't injured, just not selected in the squad," the United boss said. Falcao has scored just three times in his 13 appearances for United and has yet to justify his massive wage packet.
The forward will this week hold talks with his agent and parent club Monaco over whether to see out the season at Old Trafford.
