Long latest Trap worry

GIOVANNI Trapattoni is facing into a fully-fledged attacking crisis for the opening leg of the Republic of Ireland's Euro 2012 play-off in Tallin.

With Shane Long waiting anxiously for news of a scan on the knee damaged by Alan Hutton's reckless lunge during West Brom's first win at Villa Park in 32 years, Trap could struggle to name three fit strikers for the November 11 first-leg.

"I'll know more after the scan today," said Long.

"The first 24 hours are crucial so I'll be doing all I can to keep it wrapped up and hope that that makes a difference. I don't want to miss that Estonia game."

Kevin Doyle's suspension and continuing doubts over Robbie Keane's fitness mean that Trapattoni is reduced to just two hitmen -- Jonathon Walters and Simon Cox.

The Irish boss could be forced to mend fences with Leon Best, who he believes is less than wholehearted in his commitment to Ireland's team ethic.
