'Liverpool not very honest' says Remy

LOIC Remy has slammed Liverpool over the breakdown of his move to Anfield and the medical check which caused it.

Speculation suggests that Remy failed one of the rigorous tests set by Liverpool and at that point Brendan Rodgers decided not to pursue the deal.

"It was not very honest from their side," he said. "I did not understand Liverpool's decision."

Remy claims that he was aware of the injury before the test and that he has had a range of medical advice.

"I was not scared. I know exactly what I have, I met all the specialists in the world. A lot of players share the same situation as mine and Liverpool know it," he added.

Agbonlahor's new Villa deal

Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has signed a new four-year contract with the Premier League club.

The 27-year-old made his Premier League debut for Villa at the age of 19 back in March 2006 and has gone on to establish himself as a regular fixture in the starting line-up.

Agbonlahor, capped three times by England, has now opted to extend his stay by putting pen to paper on a new long-term deal.

"I'm excited for this season and I'm excited for the next four years," he said.

"It's a fantastic feeling for me to commit my future to Aston Villa."

Agbonlahor has started every Premier League game for Paul Lambert's side so far this season, scoring once.
