MILLWALL and Brighton are battling for the signature of MK Dons' Irish star Shaun Williams, writes AIDAN FITZMAURICE.

The former Drogheda United and Sporting Fingal man has established himself as one of the top talents in League One, scoring 10 goals in 33 games for the Dons this season even though he has played in defence for most of the campaign.

Williams has been repeatedly linked with a move to a higher division and as he is out of contract in the summer, MK Dons may decide to cash in this month and sell Williams (27) before the transfer window, with Millwall eager to land Williams to help out in their relegation battle.

Millwall and Brighton have both had bids rejected by MK Dons but clubs will up their bids for the player who signed on a free from Sporting Fingal in 2011.
