Kilmore clean up on AFL awards night

Newtown couldn't replicate their Amateur Cup win of last season but the giant trophy still found its way back to Liz Delaney's courtesy of the boys from Kilmore Celtic.

The Matt O'Leary was collected at the presentation on Thursday evening at The Regency Hotel by Newtown by way of compensation perhaps.

Kilmore also won the premier Sunday title and Jay Mulligan of Newtown won the golden boot.

Four referees, that between them have been whistling for a century, were rewarded for their longevity.

Gay Murphy, Ray Lynch, Brendan Emerson and Malachy Doyle being the men in question.

Portmarnock came from off the pace to win Division 1 North in the seniors section.

Four wins in two weeks saw them snatch the title from Drumcondra and multi-capped international Barry Flynn came along with Gareth Dunne to collect the award.

FC Dhulaigh were awarded Team of the Year for the spirit shown late in the season. But the stars on the night were Kilmore Celtic once again.
