IRELAND goalkeeper Keiren Westwood says he is excited to be taking on Germany at Lansdowne Road in two weeks' time
Westwood accepts that the German will be favourites to take points in Dublin and that Ireland have a big job on to stop them - but is looking forward to his first big competitive game as Ireland's No 1.
"It's massive, regardless of the transition we're going through at the moment," he said.
"Germany are always a big attraction to the fans. They are right up there with the best in the world," he added.
"It is going to be difficult but we always give a great account of ourselves against the best teams.
"I'm sure this game will be no different, despite the strikeforce they have and the attacking midfield with the likes of Ozil, who is world class."
Germany will be without Philip Lahm, Miroslav Klose and Mario Gomes for the October 12 clash at the Aviva.
