Keane's Major delight

ROBBIE KEANE finished off a remarkable week by helping his LA Galaxy side claim the Major League Soccer Cup last night – only the second medal won by Keane in his 14-season career in club football.

The Ireland captain, who last week led the team to qualification for the Euro 2012 finals, didn't score as Galaxy beat Houston Dynamo 1-0 to claim the MLS title but he did lay on an assist for the match-winning and title-winning goal scored by Landon Donovan.

Keane won his medal just four months after his move to the USA.

Before last night the 31-year-old, who made his senior debut with Wolves back in 1997, had picked up just one trophy in his club career, a League Cup success with Spurs in 2008.
