ROBBIE Keane scored and had a good goal disallowed in a 2-1 defeat for LA Galaxy in CONCACAF Champions League action against Mexican club Monarcas Morelia.
The Ireland skipper looked sharp and skilful against the Mexicans after the international break and had a perfectly legal headed goal cancelled out for offside before he scored with a sweet chip after 51 minutes.
However, late goals from Miguel Sabah and Adrian Aldrete allowed the Mexicans to pull ahead and join the Galaxy at the top of their group.
Elsewhere, Liam Miller is making headlines in Australia after a captain's performance for Perth Glory in a 6-1 pre-season warm-up against junior side Balcatta.
"He was outstanding and showed he's versatile," said Glory coach Ian Ferguson.
"He can play number 10, holding midfielder or as an attacking midfielder. Liam also retains the balls, has a great range of passing and exceptional work rate."
Sounds like just the man Giovanni Trapattoni needs to revitalise Ireland's midfield.
