Keane out of this world with Galaxy hat-trick

Robbie Keane's hat-trick saw the Los Angeles Galaxy ease past the Seattle Sounders with a 4-0 win as Robbie Rogers returned to football.

Barely 24 hours after signing for the Galaxy to end his hiatus from the game after coming out, Rogers – to a standing ovation from the home fans – replaced Juninho in the 77th minute.

By that time the Galaxy were already four goals up thanks to Sean Franklin's 12th-minute opener and strikes from Keane in the 24th, 34th and 44th minutes, the last two from the penalty spot.

The Sounders had Shalrie Joseph sent off late on.

Jamison Olave netted in stoppage time to rescue a point for the New York Red Bulls in their 2-2 draw with the Columbus Crew.

Twice the Crew led, through Dominic Oduro's second-minute strike and Federico Higuain's spot-kick in the 74th minute, but both times New York came back, thanks to Thierry Henry (31) and Olave.

It left New York two points clear of the Montreal Impact at the top of the Eastern Conference having played four games more.

Kei Kamara's 68th-minute goal gave Sporting Kansas City a 1-1 draw against the Houston Dynamo, who had taken the lead on the stroke of half-time through Brad Davis.
