Keane closes in on silverware with LA in MLS final

FRESH from helping Ireland secure their place in Euro 2012, Robbie Keane will turn his attentions to a rare chance to add to the solitary medal he has won as a professional footballer as his club LA Galaxy take on Houston Dynamo in the MLS Cup final.

Keane is back in LA after last Tuesday's Euro 2012 play-off second leg against Estonia, and ready to lead the line for Bruce Arena's side as they take on Houston Dynamo on their own soil, the Home Depot Centre.

And the Tallaght striker will strive to add to the League Cup winners medal he won with Tottenham Hotspur in 2008.

Keane's team-mate David Beckham is also seeking his first medal on American soil, more than four years after signing for Galaxy.

His club are hoping to persuade Beckham to come back for one more season, although the Englishman has been guarded about his intentions. "I've always said it's down to how I feel physically," Beckham said. "My priority always is my family and are they happy.

"We love living here (in LA)."
