ROBBIE Keane completed a remarkable comeback by scoring in his third game in seven days to help LA Galaxy into the MLS final and then sent Giovanni Trapattoni the message everyone wanted to hear: "I’m 100%"
Trapattoni will travel to Estonia with three fit strikers – Keane, Jonathon Walters and Simon Cox.
Expectant father Leon Best is struggling with toe and groin injuries and is rated doubtful for the first-leg in Tallinn on Friday.
“Leon will come in for assessment later today and we’ll have a better idea at that point,” said an FAI spokesman this morning.
Keane was all but written out of the Euro 2012 play-off equation by Trapattoni after sustaining a adductor muscle injury in Andorra but his performance against Real Salt Lake suggested a player rapidly approaching peak performance.
The Ireland captain scored Galaxy’s third in a 3-1 win and will link up with the rest of Trapattoni’s squad tomorrow.
He will find his team-mates in a confident frame of mind, if Cox’s comments about the week ahead are anything to go by.
“Can I fill in up front? Definitely,” said Cox. “I have played alongside Robbie before and it has worked well. Any part I can play in helping the team get to the Euros, I would be happy to play.”
