MANCHESTER UNITED are set to return to Juventus with an improved bid for Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal after the Italian champions rejected a a bid amounting to €43 million.
It was reported in Italy that the player's agent Fernando Felicevich had flown down to Manchester to speed up the move ahead of Monday's transfer deadline.
United manager Louis van Gaal suggested he hoped to add further new signings, having allowed Wilfried Zaha return to Crystal Palace on loan. Tom Cleverley, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck are also likely to leave United.
Van Gaal said: "The club will (announce) when the time's there. Players will leave, others will come."
