Tully and Reserve Cups down to last eight

The draws for the last eight of the Challenge & Reserve cups were made last week and a number of interesting paiings were made.

Navan Town will be hoping that their draw against in form Albion Rovers is a good omen as their their solitary success as cup wnners in 2007 came after a quarter final triumph against Albion.

Fresh from their great win at hoe to Rock Celtic in the last round, Marsh Celtic face another tough assignment as they await the winners of Carrick & Knghtsbrook.

The draw in full -- Tully Bookmakers Cup quarter-finals: Albion Rovers v Navan Town; Marsh Celtic v Knightsbrook or Carrick; OMP v Dromin; Woodview or Square v Johnstown or Clones.

Ties on or before March 21.

Reserve Cup quarter-finals: Glaslough v Electro, Longwood v Johnstown or Park Celtic Summerhill, Marsh or Enfield v Rock Celtic, Woodview v Duleek or Bohermeen.

Ties to be played on or before March 20.

FAI Team of the Month award is now on-line

The Football Association of Ireland have recently sent out a reminder to clubs to take note of the online form for the AVIVA Club of the Month Awards.

The awards will recognize clubs' achievements and displays, on and off the field of play. The awards, which are now in their fourth year, will distinguish some of the finest football clubs in the country through a series of monthly prizes culminating in the AVIVA Club of the Year Award Each monthly winner will receive a cash prize of €1,500 and a suitable plaque which will be presented each month at a function in the Citywest Hotel.

The clubs will be judged on six different criteria including, administration, coaching, participation numbers, facilities, performance and contribution to the community.

The online application form is available on www.fai.ie Monthly winners to date this season include MDL Club Kingscourt Harps and Wicklow Club Blessington.

Soccer Sisters are back in with Easter camps

The FAI and Aviva are delighted to announce that the Soccer Sisters are back for the second year running with three camps planned for Co. Meath, at the MDL, Grounds Navan, Aura Leisure Centre Trim and Dunboyne AFC.

The girls-only camps, cater for 7-11 year olds with the aim of increasing the number of girls playing football and to improve their skills in a fun, structured and a safe coaching environment.

The camps take place from Monday, March 29 to Thursday April 1, 2010 for three hours each day. This year there will be three Soccer Sisters venues in Meath -- MDL, Grounds Navan, Aura Leisure Centre Trim and Dunboyne AFC. Places are limited so book without delay to avoid disappointment.

Applications forms for the Navan camp are available at the Aviva store on Kennedy Road Navan and participants who sign up in the store will receive their Soccer Sisters kit and water bottle on the day.

Application forms for the Trim camp are available from Aura Leisure Centre in Trim and you can sign-up for the Dunboyne AFC camp at Dunboyne Sports & Leisure shop in the town centre.
