IT'S February 1 and, believe it or not, there is one club side still on the lookout for players to boost their squad. St James Under 10 Division 6 need players badly, and it's not because the ones they have are not up to standard.
Far from it, it's because they have the bare amount of players in the squad.
They could do with a few new faces to fill all positions in the team, so surely there must be some budding stars out there still itching to join a team.
If there are any parents interested in getting your son or daughter involved, the side train each Monday evening from 6.15pm-7.30pm at St Raphael's floodlit all-weather/Astroturf pitches.
St. Raphael's is located between Stillorgan Village and Sandyford Industrial Estate, at the top of Upper Kilmacud Road, and accessed via Stillorgan Heath. See map of location at:

Cabs' message spreading around the globe
OVER 100,000 HITS and counting, that's how many times the Cabinteely FC website has had someone looking in since its inception in 2007.
Its all part pf the Global Cabo Challenge where they want to cover the globe with their green colours, and they have had visits from 69 countries to date.
These include places like Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Egypt, Faroe Islands, Finland, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Madagascar, Malaysia, Slovenia, South Korea and Uzbekistan.
Impressive stuff indeed and for a more detailed look at which countries are logging on, look up their site at www.cabinteelyfc.com
Connors named as SDFL Under 16 manager
LIFFEY VALLEY RANGERS Under 13 manager Mark Connors is to take charge of the SDFL representative side at Under 16 level, and he has been given the freedom to bring in his coaches from the club to join him.
Mark, who is an SDFL goalkeeping coach, will be joined by Derek McDonnell and Jamie Conroy as they prepare the side for the Leinster Cup, which is held in May.
That's three months in which to gather a squad together capable of taking on the likes of possible opposition in the form of the Dundalk, Wicklow and North Eastern Counties Leagues in a four team tournament.
This is a great honour for the club to be supplying all the coaches to the SDFL for this section, and is shows the standard of coaching within the club itself. All at Liffey Valley would like to wish the lads the best of luck.
Under 13s look to improve
A BELOW par performance from the SDFL Under 13 Kennedy Cup squad has left manager Shay Cunningham with plenty to think about, as he prepares his charges for next Saturday's outing against Wexford.
After watching his side draw 1-1 with Kildare, in Peamount recently, he said "We are capable of playing much better than that, and I will be making a few changes for the next game, they only get one chance to play in the Kennedy Cup and we have to get it right".
