Tolka Rovers recovered from going a goal down in the opening fifteen minutes to pick apart the FAI Intermediate Cup hopes of Drogheda Town to advance into the semi finals at Frank Cooke Park on Friday night.
A brace from David Somers and goal each from Shane Hughes, Alan Murphy and Mark O'Neill sent the Louth side packing as the Northsiders marched on into last four.
Trevor Harding lashed home a half volley from the edge of the area to give Town a shock lead after 13 minutes, but the visitors stayed in front for just eleven minutes until Alan Murphy set up David Somers to equalise.
Tolka went ahead six minutes from half time when Shane Hughes crashed home from an impossible angle and just after the break Alan Murphy netted to give the home side a two-goal cushion.
Keith Arnold slotted home a penalty for Town to reduce the arrears but Tolka restored their two-goal advantage when Mark O'Neill tapped home with 67 minutes gone.
The home side pulled further in front when Somers came in at the end of a brilliant build up to net his second of the game with fifteen minutes gone. Richard Gibney grabbed a third for Town late on, but it was too little too late for the visitors.
Seven different scorers for St Pats in 'Boro mauling
St. Pat's CY promotion hopes from Senior Division 1A were handed a timely boost last Wednesday night when they travelled to Carba and dished out a seven goal mauling of fellow title hopefuls, Beggsboro.
The Saints, who are now just five points of the promotion spot, turned on the style with seven goals from seven different scorers. Wingers Gary O'Connor and Anto Flood, Tomo Dunne, Thomas Nolan, Paddy Montgomery, Dean Young and Graham Hannigan all rattled the Boro net.
The Boro, who could have joined Verona at the top of the table with victory, were left shell shocked and Derek Bowden of the Saints said: "In fairness to Beggboro they are a good side but they caught us on a perfect night and everything we hit seemed to go in.
