Mid-Sutton U10s look to the 'West'

THERE'S a real buzz around Mid Sutton FC these days especially concerning their under 10s who are the pride of the club at present.

Only recently the Rob Bailey and Niall Behan coached side were the toast of the club after they defeated Rivervalley Rangers in the semi-finals of the Westbrook Cup.

And proving that it was a real team effort they had four different scorers on the scoresheet as Alex Sako, Denis Walsh-Aslan, Marlon Kearns and Hannah Walsh all found the back of the net.

Awaiting Mid Sutton in the final are Grange Woodbine on the May Bank Holiday weekend at the Oscar Traynor Centre with everyone already counting down the days to what will no doubt be a special occasion.

So take a bow the twelve super stars from the Under 10s - Finn Phelan, Robert Nother, Megan Walsh, Alex Sako, Marlon Kearns, Cillian Byrne, Liam Bailey, Evan Hayes, Denis Walsh-Aslan, Hannah Walsh, Cormac Graham and Robert Teeling, as well as coaches Rob Bailey and Niall Behan.

Meanwhile, Mid Sutton FC are looking for your support. This Friday evening they are holding a Race Night in the Bayside Inn. The first race is under starters orders at 8.30pm and all are welcome.

Hartstown happy in 'elevated' company

THERE are times when Hartstown United under 15s have surprised themselves with their performances this season.

Last season they were playing in Under 14C, this season they are a Under 15 Premier outfit, a big leap you might say, but one they have embraced very well indeed. They are now more than holding their own after a less than steady start when they lost their first four games.

They have turned their form right around and are currently fourth in the league having gone unbeaten in five games recently.

Should they stay up they will be more than satisfied considering the large number of divisions they have jumped since last season.

he side -- who have won many admirers for their style of play -- have in recent seasons been used to success having won the League title twice at the lower divisions. Now they are happy to test themselves at a higher grade.

Training on the club's new all weather surface at Harstown Community Centre has also benefited the team and their full squad of 18 players all put the hard work in during those training sessions.

The team are also heading to Spain on April 1 to play in the Costa Duarada International Cup, thanks kindly to the sponsorship of Merlin Car Auctions.

On the Cup front they are also doing well and are still in the Molly Martin Cup where Skerries Premier await in the quarter finals.

Coaches Tommy Browne, a former Sheffield United player, Ryan Byrne and his brother David Byrne, they are delighted with the performances of the whole squad.

From Captain Josh Saunders right through the panel of Aaron Quinn, Dara Kiernan, Lee Tsang, Philip Bergin, Paddy Roche, Oki Abeboli, Gavin O'Reilly, Daniel Walsh, Craig Quinn, Joe Bartley, Glen Scott, Sergio Pusca, Domo Palsys, Keith Pike, Ray Middleton, Ryan Ormsby and Ali Jusufovic they are hoping their good form continues right through to the end of the domestic season, as well as on the upcoming trip to Spain.
