King to 'sign off' after decade of success

Noel King will step down as the Republic of Ireland women's manager after the Under 17 World Cup in September after a decade of success, writes Niall Feery.

King, pictured right, departs the women's scene in order to take up the post of FAI Under-21 manager, but departs at a time when women's football has never being stronger, a testament to the former Shamrock Rovers man's work within the game.

His last duty will be to lead the Under-17 in this Autumn's World Cup in Trindad and Tobago after the side qualified following an impressive run all the way to the UEFA European Championships final where the Girls in Green lost out to Spain.
