Enniskerry accord to benefit community with defined player development path

It was announced this week that an agreement has been reached between Wicklow League club Enniskerry Youth Club and WDSL club Enniskerry Football Club that is aimed securing a player pathway for all involved in football within the community.

The accord - which was signed both members of both clubs - has agreed that Enniskerry FC will take responsibility for the development of underage football in the village with support and interaction of coaches from Enniskerry YC.

In return, Enniskerry YC will take responsibility for adult development and football education in the village starting from Under 17.

A Football development committee is to be set up involving managers from both clubs.

This will ensure a common goal; which is, football for all in the local community and ensure the correct development and planning goes into both Senior and under age football in Enniskerry.

Presently, Enniskerry YC are in the process of moving from Berryfield Park to a nearby state of the art playing and training facility which includes a floodlight all-weather pitch and club house.

Enniskerry FC will also use this facility as well as their traditional grounds of the Bog Meadow and Ballyman Road.
