IRISH winger Jay O’Shea is aiming for League One success next season after he agreed a new deal with Paul Cook’s Chesterfield.
The 25-year-old admits that he has been unsettled in England since he joined Birmingham City from Galway United in 2009 but he was a major figure for Paul Cook’s Chesterfield last term as they won the League Two title, and Cook has moved quickly to tie down O’Shea on a new two-year contract.
“Since I came to England, I’ve never really settled anywhere. I think now I’ve been here a year and a half and I’ve signed for another two years it will be the longest I’ve been at a club. That’s only going to be good for me and obviously for the club as well,” says O’Shea, relishing the chance to play in the third tier.
“With the squad of players we have, I think it’s going to suit League One a lot better.”
