Irish youngsters on move for experience

THREE Irish youngsters have made loan moves in England to try and gain first team experience. After struggling to get a place in the starting XI with Carlisle United this season, U21 cap Paddy Madden has joined League One rivals Yeovil Town on a month's loan deal.

Belfast lad Daniel Kearns, who was capped twice at U21 level by the Republic of Ireland, has been allowed to leave Championship side Peterborough United and hook up with League Two side York City after a frustrating period which saw Kearns fail to make a single appearance for the Posh this season.

"Daniel obviously wants to play games and this is a good opportunity for him to go there and play for four weeks," said Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson.

"They have a lot of fixtures in a short space of time and it will be good for him to get some minutes under his belt in a competitive format."

Current U21 international Matt Doherty is also leaving the Championship for a spell in League One as he's gone to Bury for three months. Doherty spent time on loan to Hibernians last season but has struggled to get games for Wolves this term.
