Irish duo relegated in Finland

FORMER League of Ireland duo Shane Robinson (above) and Shane McFaul are facing an uncertain future after their club, FC Haka, were relegated from the top flight in Finland.

Dubliner McFaul and Waterford native Robinson were signed up at Haka by the then manager, former Drogheda United coach Sami Ristilia, at the start of the 2012 term, but the season was a struggle for Haka and Ristila was dismissed in September.

A 1-0 win on the final day of the Finnish season on Saturday was not enough to keep Haka up as they finished bottom and now the Irish pair will assess their futures.

Keegan nets for Doncaster

PAUL KEEGAN is on a high after scoring the first goal of his English league career for Doncaster Rovers.

The 28-year-old is in his third season with the League One side having joined from Bohemians in 2010, but the former Drogheda United man had drawn a blank in front of goal until he managed a strike over the weekend.

Doncaster moved up to fifth place in the League One table thanks to Saturday's 2-0 win away to Notts County.
