Injury to end Dunne record

Richard Dunne is set to lose his record as an ever-present in the Premier League for Aston Villa this season due to injury. The Ireland defender was taken off before the end of Villa's 2-2 draw with Wolves on Saturday and is a major doubt for tomorrow's clash with Sunderland.

"He did well to come out for the second half because he has got an Achilles problem," said Martin O'Neill.

"He was very sore at half-time but we'll monitor it and see how it goes."

Terry Dixon took another step towards full fitness last night when he scored for West Ham's reserves in a 2-0 win over Arsenal. Dixon still has an eye for goal and he scored the second for the Hammers second string away to Arsenal last night. Dixon has been linked with a move to the MLS in America in the summer to gain first-team experience.

DROGHEDA United knocked St Patrick's Athletic out of the Leinster Senior Cup with a 1-0 win thanks to Paul Crowley's goal last night. Saints boss Pete Mahon made ten changes from the side which beat UCD 3-0 on Friday, handing a debut to Dan Connor in goal. Bohemians will rest their senior players for tonight's game in the competition at home to Sporting Fingal.
