Hornets release Yeates

FORMER Ireland B cap Mark Yeates is looking for a new club after he was released by Watford.

Yeates helped the Hornets reach the promotion play-off final at the end of last season but following defeat by Crystal Palace in that game the club have wielded the axe, with 15 players allowed to leave, including Dubliner Yeates.

Meanwhile, Daryl Murphy is eager for success at Ipswich Town after he completed a permanent move to Portman Road.

Murphy spent last season on loan to Ipswich from Celtic but now that his contract at Parkhead is up, the Tractor Boys have signed him on a two-year deal. "I'm delighted to be back," Murphy said.

"I had a chat with the manager at the end of the season and I'm pleased to get the deal done and finally be an Ipswich player on a permanent basis.

"It's well documented that I love being at Ipswich and I made no secret that I wanted to return. The fans have been great with me every time I've been here and I think the club is really heading in the right direction."
