HO HO ho jose!

JOSE Mourinho was positively purring with pleasure after Chelsea dispatched West Ham to maintain their primacy at the top of the Premier League.

But the two Manchester chasers kept up the pressure with City winning easily at West Brom and United beating Newcastle at Old Trafford.

"I am really happy. We are doing very well, one more match until the end of the year and that's good to finish first," said Mourinho.

"We are playing Fabregas football, Hazard football, Willian football, Oscar football. Everybody is working defensively, the team is stable. (Nemanja) Matic gives us very good security and the bench is good."

Just as pleased with his day's work was Pellegrini who has set a target for his players to grab the top spot from Chelsea in the next few weeks.

"I think it is a very important month and a key week. We have to play for nine points in just one week," he said.

"I don't think this week will decide the Premier League but it is important to be, as soon as we can, at the top of the table so we can so we have an advantage for the second round (of fixtures)."
