Jeff Hendrick is edging closer to a move to Newcastle United while West Brom are planning a move for two Irish players to bolster their squad for their return to the Premier League next season.
Hendrick is a free agent after his exit from Burnley last season and while he was linked with a move to Italy, where there was interest from AC Milan and Roma, Newcastle have identified the Coolock man as one of their key signings for the summer.
Meanwhile, the Baggies have sealed promotion to the top flight but boss Slaven Bilic knows he needs to strengthen and has been promised funds to target Shane Duffy and Callum Robinson.
Brighton are willing to offload Duffy having signed two defenders in the last three weeks. While West Ham remain keen to sign the Derry native, WBA could seal a deal before the end of this week.
Robinson is also being linked with a permanent move to the Hawthorns. He scored three times in 16 games for West Brom while on loan from Sheffield United last season and while he has two years left on his deal with the Blades, he is expected to move if West Brom can agree a long-term deal.
