Sacred Heart's Leinster Senior League Senior Division aspirations have become reality after the Tallaght club were promoted into the top flight at last Thursday's LSL formation meeting, writes NIALL FEERY.
Hearts, who finished third in Division 1 behind Leixlip United and UCD, were promoted to the top table after Mount Merrion relinquished their Senior Division status at their own request.
St Francis have also benefited from the change and the Baldonnel club, who missed out on promotion thanks to a last-match defeat, move up a division to Senior 1.
The LSL also announced details of their new Under-19 project, to be launched at the start of next season in August.
The league revealed that 18 teams will take part in the historic debut season of this exciting and new venture, with the door open for more clubs to come on board.
The night also marked the return of Liffey Wanderers, with the Dublin 2 side taking up residency in Major 1 Sunday.
