Hawkins sweats on first win as Reds hold Rovers Bs

COLIN HAWKINS is still awaiting his first win as manager of the Shamrock Rovers B side after they were held to a draw by Shelbourne in the First Division's Dublin derby yesterday.

Hawkins' former side Shels remain joint top of the Division One table with Finn Harps, John McDonnell's Reds side unbeaten in four league games now, but Shels had to come from behind at Tallaght Stadium.

Boosted by the addition of senior team players Robert Bayly and Karl Sheppard for the first time this season, Rovers took the lead through Daniel Purdy ten minutes into the second half but defender Brian Gannon equalised for the Reds on 67 minutes.

Title favourites Longford Town had no game this weekend as their match against Cobh Ramblers was called off due to an unplayable pitch.
