Hart blasts defending as Blades dump QPR out of Cup

QPR boss Paul Hart lauded his side's defending after they tumbled out of the FA Cup with a 3-2 third-round defeat by Sheffield United.

Lee Williamson's early strike and quickfire second-half goals from Jamie Ward and Richard Cresswell saw Rangers fall three behind before staging a late rally through an Akos Buzsaky penalty and a Damion Stewart header.

"The way we started the second half was a disaster," said Hart. "We've gone 15 games without a clean sheet and you can see why. That is a side of our game that has to improve."

Derby county beat Millwall 5-3 on penalties after the two sides finished extra-time tied at 1-1, Stephen Bywater saving from Danny Schofield before Dean Moxey scored the winning spot-kick for the Rams. Nigel Clough hailed County's "grit" and "determination" after they bounced back from their 4-1 Championship defeat to Scunthorpe United last Saturday and avoided an upset in this FA Cup encounter. The former Burton boss said: "I thought there was certainly grit, there was determination and at times, in difficult conditions, there was some reasonable play. I thought there was an awful lot of honesty and endeavour."

Bristol City and Cardiff city face a replay after Gavin Williams' dramatic injury-time equaliser cancelled out Michael Chopra's stunning 76th-minute opener for the Bluebirds.

Cardiff boss Dave Jones praised the travelling fans for their backing after the original fixture date was put back: "I had a pop at our supporters on Saturday for booing us, but tonight they were magnificent."
