IRISH youngster Michael Harriman is celebrating a double as he received his first call-up to the Republic's U21 squad, only 24 hours after he made his full Premier League debut for QPR.
The 20-year-old has been called in to the U21 squad by manager Noel King for a friendly away to Denmark at the end of this month, a well-earned promotion for the player who had already been capped at U17 and U19 levels.
He now joins clubmate Frankie Sutherland in the U21 panel.
And that Ireland call came just after Harry Redknapp handed Harriman a start in the final game of the Premier League season, a 1-0 defeat by Liverpool.
"I gave Michael Harriman his full Premier League debut," said Redknapp. "He's come through the youth team and I thought he did excellent. That was good for us to see him do well.
"It was a big bonus. I was delighted with him."
