From mean streets to Old Trafford for new Red Bebe

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Portuguese club Vitoria Guimaraes to buy striker Tiago Manuel Dias Correia, who represented Portugal at soccer's Homeless World Cup.

Personal terms have been agreed with the 20-year-old, who is known as Bebe, and he will move to Old Trafford for an undisclosed fee "subject to a successful medical in Manchester later this week," a United statement said.

The six-foot-two Bebe would become the ninth striker in United's first-team squad before their Premier League season opener against Newcastle on August 16, though Mame Biram Diouf and Joshua King have gone out on loan to other clubs.

Bebe, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, joins United seven weeks after signing a five-year contract with Vitoria.

Having lived part of his childhood on the streets, Bebe was raised in an orphanage and has represented Portugal at under-19 level and at the Homeless World Cup, according to Vitoria's website.
