PAT FENLON believes that Anthony Stokes, who masterminded Celtic's Scottish Cup final win over Fenlon's Hibs side yesterday, is due an international recall on his back of his form.

Stokes, last capped against Uruguay over two years ago, didn't score in the 3-0 win over Hibs as Celtic sealed the double. However, he set up two for the Bhoys and his very impressive display would have been food for thought - if anyone from the Ireland management was watching.

Losing boss Fenlon was certainly impressed and believes that the player should not be ignored by the Irish side.

"Anthony is a quality player and he has the quality to play at international level," Fenlon told the Herald. "What has gone on before in relation to the Irish team I don't know, but to my eyes, he has the ability and quality to play for the national team. He's a good player, I know him since he was at Shels."
