Fenlon installs O'Brien

PAT FENLON has started to make his mark on SPL strugglers Hibernian by axing two members of the coaching staff and bringing in former Ireland man Liam O'Brien.

Fenlon had a watching brief as Hibs lost 3-1 to St Johnstone on Saturday, as caretaker boss Billy Brown was in the dugout, but the Dubliner started work in earnest by making changes to the coaching staff ahead of his first game in full charge, against Motherwell on Friday.

Gareth Evans and Alistair Stevenson have been let go while Hibs are expected to confirm the appointment of O'Brien -- Fenlon's assistant at Bohemians -- to the staff today.

Mike Riley, chairman of the Hibs Supporters Association, has welcomed the changes.

"Fenlon is getting his own men in and you can't blame him," said Riley. "He has one hell of a task."
