Enrique eager for Cup return to Wembley

LIVERPOOL defender Jose Enrique is keen to make a swift return to Wembley after winning the Carling Cup there last month.

The Reds host Stoke in an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday knowing victory will guarantee them another trip to the national stadium for a last-four encounter.

They have ambitions to go further than that and pick up a second piece of silverware, having ended a six-year trophy drought with a penalty shoot-out victory over Cardiff.

"I think everyone enjoyed going to Wembley a lot," said Enrique, a £6.75m signing from Newcastle last summer.

"To win a trophy in my first season here was amazing and we have a big chance to do that again.

"There are two games to play to get to the final and we have a good chance.

"It is difficult to play against Stoke, they are a real English team -- they kick the ball all the time to their striker and we have to be careful at throw-ins and corners."

Liverpool go into the game full of confidence after beating Everton 3-0 at Anfield on Tuesday in the 217th Merseyside derby to end a run of three successive league defeats.

Steven Gerrard was the star on the night, scoring the first league derby hat-trick for almost 30 years, but the Reds captain was keen to share the praise with one of the team's unsung heroes in Jay Spearing, who put in an impressive performance alongside the England international.

"Jay has been consistent all year. Every time the manager has called upon him he has been superb," said Gerrard. "He was up against Jack Rodwell and people talk about him being a £25million player and England's future, and I think Jay more than matched him if he was not better than him."
