Elebert Roves his way to City

FORMER Ireland U21 international David Elebert has completed his move from Shamrock Rovers to Derry City.

The Dubliner is much-travelled from his time in England, Scotland and Iceland, and Derry swooped after he was released by Rovers at the end of last season. "David is happy to join us and we're very happy to have him," said Derry manager Roddy Collins.

"He gives us solidity and the fact that he can play across the back four is what we want.

"Dave is also a very good talker and a clever player, so he brings valuable experience to our defence and I think we're now well equipped in that department."

Derry's friendly against Glentoran, where proceeds were being donated to former striker Mark Farren to aid his cancer battle, was called off due to snow.
