Dunne named in Villa squad

RICHARD Dunne has taken the next big step towards a full recovery from a broken collar bone and has been named in the Aston Villa's squad for the trip to West Brom.

If they need me, I'm available,” said Dunne during the week in Dublin, despite the fact that he had yet to test his shoulder fully.

Villa medics have monitored Dunne throughout his recovery and are completely confident that his broken collarbone has mended fully and can withstand the rigours of Premier League action.

Dunne is desperate to help in Villa’s relegation battle.

“If we go down it will be a disaster for the whole club. But we know the situation we're in and it needs fixing,” said Dunne.

“This season has to be a warning to everyone that we need the squad to grow, so that if there are injuries then we have experienced cover.”
